SEUSS ON THE LOOSE

Seuss on the Loose, an annual gathering to promote childhood literacy and support the Ferst Foundation for Readers was held Saturday at Jasper County High School. Winners of the costume contest are pictured at right in the yellow. Children also enjoyed dancing (see below) and riding the train. The morning offered fun activities for the young children, and a chance to win a quilt, an original Jeanne Trammel painting and several other items. Ferst Foundation provides a book a month for registered children from newborn to age five. There are no income guidelines or anything else, just a valid address and a child under age five. Lynne Jordan is the local coordinator. Anyone who knows a child who is not receiving books, may contact Mrs. Jordan to register the child, 706-468-0063.
