Braxton Johnson Becomes Eagle Scout

BRAXTON JOHNSON WITH LITTLE LIBRARY

Braxton Johnson, a senior at Jasper County High School, officially became an Eagle Scout on April 25.

He is the son of Bart and Tracey Johnson of Mansfield. He is in Troop 222 of Covington.

His project was completed at Prospect United Methodist Church. The project consisted of building a picnic area for families to enjoy being outdoors.

Braxton also updated the threshold at the church to make it easier for people in wheelchairs, walkers, and limited mobility able to enter and exit the church more efficiently.

Braxton’s favorite part of his Eagle Project was building a book box also known to many as a Little Library. The Little Library has many books that someone can take to read or leave a book for someone to read and enjoy.

Braxton has always enjoyed reading and would like for others especially children in his community to enjoy being able to have access to books. He feels reading is one of the most important skills that children can benefit from. He would really like to promote reading in Jasper County.

Anyone is welcome to come by and take advantage of the Little Library. It is located at Prospect United Methodist Church, 84 Barnes Mountain Road, Mansfield.

Braxton would like to thank everyone that made it possible for him to complete his Eagle Scout project. He couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help.
