Barbara Ann Nelson Fowler

Barbara Ann Nelson Fowler, age 61, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Pruitt Health-Forsyth, (Monroe County Hospital) in Forsyth.

She was a 1976 graduate of Piedmont Academy. Barbara was a homemaker and worked for several years in the Jasper County School system.

Barbara Fowler was born on May 11, 1957, to Mike Nelson, Sr. and the late Jerene Kiff Nelson of Monticello, at Wheelus Air Force Base in Tripoli, Libya, Africa. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Fowler.

She is survived by her father, Mike (Kathy) Nelson, Sr. of Monticello; son, Chris (Jessica) Hooberry of Monticello; daughters, Jennifer Allen and Myra Prevatt of Townsend; grandchildren, Preston Allen, Lexi Allen, Hailey Hooberry, Nelson Hooberry and Bacari Foster; brothers and sisters, Mike (Judy) Nelson, Jr. of Monticello, Wally Nelson of Wilmington, Dela., Kristi (Darren) Gregory of Ankeny, Iowa, Leo (Debra) Nelson of Gordon, Betty Jean (Jack) Benjamin of Ellaville and Jones (Mason) Nelson of Fort Valley; best friend, Betsy Short of Monticello and a number of nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Barbara’s life, her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jessica Hooberry, 7661 Hwy 83 S, Monticello, Georgia 31064, will hold a visitation to be held this Saturday, May 11, 2019, from 3 until 6 p.m. All friends and family are welcome.
