Nine Piedmont Baseball Players Named All-Region

Similar to how the Piedmont Academy baseball team dominated region competition on the field in 2019 the Diamond Cougars were the prominent name on the All-Region team.

The top 20 players in GISA 1-AA were named All-Region with Piedmont having the first nine selected. Sam Wright, Chase Porter, Tate Marks, Owen Brady, Drake Coody, Rob Allgood, Caleb Faircloth, Caleb Coffey and Zach Spivey were each selected All-Region.

Cameron Mobley was named All-Region honorable mention.

Wright, Porter and Allgood have also been selected to compete in the GISA All-Star baseball doubleheader May 25 in Statesboro. The Cougar trio will compete for the “Blue” team coached by Piedmont baseball coach Colt Spivey and former coach Dan Funt.

The Diamond Cougars advanced to the GISA Class AA state semifinals this spring. Piedmont was 6-0 in 1-AA and 16-5 overall.
