Senior Center Grand Re-Opening Is Friday
Jasper County senior citizens have moved back into their renovated and expanded facility, thanks to funding from the Community Development Block Grant through U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Georgia Department of Community Affairs as well as a match from Northeast Georgia Regional Commission and the Jasper County Commission.
This project would not have possible without the grant writers and administrators, Allen-Smith Consulting, the JMA Architecture firm, and the construction group of Brannen Development.
Even though a few final pieces are still being worked on, completion is expected soon. Landscaping has been completed and they are waiting on the driveway and parking lot to be improved.
Director Tracy Norton, extends gratefulness to all involved including the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce (COC) for helping with donations toward the new facility.
The COC will sponsor a ribbon cutting tomorrow, June 7, at 9:30 a.m. in conjunction with the Grand Opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community is invited to tour the facility and share in the celebration.
The Senior Center is located at 26 Mack Tillman Drive across from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
