Persons Are Arrested

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated several thefts in the last week, including the theft of cash and gift cards from an address on Blue Heron. They also looked into thefts on Ernest Gibson, and Hwy. 212 west.

There was a forgery discovered in the tax office, and the city of Monticello caught someone stealing utilities. There was a report of theft by deception that took place at the local NAPA store.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Joshua Alan Scott, 27, Monticello—failure to stop at stop sign, passing in a no passing zone, removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal or misrepresent, improper passing (three counts), speeding, no proof of insurance, driving with license suspended or revoked, reckless driving, possession of Schedule 1 controlled substance and fleeing/attempting to elude police officer.

•Russell Jean Hanson, 48, Eatonton—contempt of court.

•Artelious Demond Williams, 42, Shady Dale—aggressive driving.

•Morgan Rachel Newman, 20, Covington—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Aniston Elizabeth Stephens, 20, Social Circle—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Dontravious Rashaad Thompson, 18, Shady Dale—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Jerry Wayne East, 62, Flovilla—probation violation.

•Lasha Michelle Henderson, 37, Conyers—hold for warrant in Newton Co.

•Jeremy Shane Smith, 39, Covington—hold for warrant in Newton Co.

•Victoria Jean Brown, 43, Monticello—maintaining a disorderly house.

•Johnny Ray Durance, 44, Social Circle—probation violation.

•Timothy Lynwood, Jr., 30, Newborn—contempt of court.

•James Craig Lackey, 56, Social Circle—affray and battery.

•James Craig Crowe, 42, Covington—affray.
