Several Burglaries Are Reported
Jasper County deputies investigated several burglaries in the last week, some of which happened over a period of time.
For example, a complainant on West Washington Street is missing numerous items from a home, but the date of the burglary is October 1, 2018 until June 15, 2019. Taken were parts for a Harley Davidson motorcycle, numerous yard tools, various saws, flower pots, a love seat, paint sprayer, silver, musical instruments, ladder, and much more. The incident is under investigation, as are each of the following:
A resident on Hwy. 212 complained that a saddle and saddle stand were taken, and Ameris Bank reported a forgery sometime during the last week. In addition, there was an attempted burglary on Shirley Drive where the front door was damaged, but nothing was reported missing. A central heat and air unit was taken from an address on Eagle View Drive.
Lastly, organizers of the Shady Dale rodeo reported funds are missing from the gate.
Persons arrested in the last week, including during a license check
Saturday night, and their charges, include:
•Darnell Sanchez Norwood, 23, Shady Dale— distributing obscene materials.
•Shantiaives Thaquile Rowe, 25, Newborn—aggravated assault, criminal trespass and cruelty to children third degree.
•Larandy Steven Gotel, 37, Monticello—child support and probation violation.
•Jonathan Andrew Hix, 55, Covington—possession of methamphetamine and windshield violation.
•Hadley Luke Jackson, 37, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and open container.
•Katie Bledsoe Gantt, 33, Gordon—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
•Adam Bryant Johnson, 43, Covington—operating vessel w/improper lights and operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
