Flora Elaine Williamson
Flora Elaine Williamson, age 64, of Forsyth, formerly of Monticello, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
Elaine “Winky” Williamson was the youngest of eight children born to the late Glenn Franklin Williamson and Nola Etta Caroline Roper Williamson. She was born and raised in Monticello. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandsons, Chandler McLendon and Richmond “Richie” James Steele; great-grandson, Preston James Nelson; and brothers, Glen Rogers “Rod” Williamson and Benjamin Roper “Benny” Williamson.
Elaine was lovingly known as “Winky” having been given the nickname by her grandfather. She was the shining example of a true southern lady and mother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and tending to her rescued cats. Her greatest joy in life was doting on her “girls,” Ray and grandchildren.
Her favorite saying to her girls was, “Ya can’t go to Heaven with hate in your heart” and never spoke an unkind word about anyone or anything.
Elaine was always selfishly putting her family and friends first and will be greatly cherished, missed and gracefully mourned by her family.
She is survived by the love of her life of 21 years, Ray Camp of Forsyth; daughters, Belinda “Punkin” and Jeff Schell of Monticello, Lisa (Dan) Burden of Union Point, Angel Barnett (Kevin Murray) of Byron and Jessi (Kevin) Felker of Forsyth; son-in-law, Bobby Taylor of Gray; grandchildren, Luke Steele, Savannah Steele, Chase (Will) Anglin, Robert Taylor, Madison Murray, Alexa Matos and Kane Felker; sisters and brothers, Debby Hardy of Monticello, Charlie Williamson of Franklin, N.C., Judy Dills of Monticello, Mac Arthur Williamson of Godfrey and Jimmy Williamson of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Callie Fuller Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Williams Payne Cemetery. Rev. Charles Roper will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2019, at Callie Fuller Baptist Church.
