Persons Are Arrested

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office spent much of the day Saturday dealing with a runaway child, who took a car and drove it even though the teen was unlicensed.

The teen and the car were located Saturday afternoon.

Deputies also responded to a burglary on West Washington Street in the last week, and the all -too- familiar bashing of a mailbox. This all occurred in the last week in Jasper County. There was also a case of financial transaction card fraud.

Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:

•Tony Rudolph Boone, 60, Monticello—driving under influence of alcohol or drugs less safe, drugs not in original container and failure to maintain lane.

•Nichole Lee Lewis, 32, Milledgeville—probation violation.

•Evelyn Marie Smith, 54, Eatonton—hold for warrant in Newton Co.

•Sarah Elaine Collins, 29, Monticello—simple battery.

•Lucious Marcus Odom, 33, Monticello—probation violation, tampering with evidence, false statements or writings; conceal facts or fraudulent documents, battery, and obstruction of law enforcement officer.

•Walter Lee Dorough, Jr., 33, Monticello—probation violation.

•Anthony Cain Sammons, 46, Acworth—fleeing/eluding police officer, failure to maintain lane, unlawful use of driver’s license, tail light violation and failure to stop for stop sign.

Deputies also responded to numerous calls for service including 70 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 27 subject needs officer, 25 serve civil papers, 24 premises check, 20 roadway hazzard, 13 alarm, 12 each assist motorist and mechanical breakdown, and numerous other types of calls.
