30+ Make Honor Roll This Week

Belle Perry was one of three people to correctly guess the winners of 14 of the 15 games listed in this week’s Monticello News football contest. And, she was closest on the tie-breaker, guessing that 49 points would be scored in Monticello’s loss to North Cobb Christian, 28-21, Saturday.
For her effort, she picked up a $25 prize from Chris Manville at Monticello Auto Parts/Perimeter Mini Storage.
Rocky Dykes and Ed Hall each also got 14 right, but they were further off on the tie-breaker.
Mrs. Perry, like numerous contest players, did not pick The Citadel to upset Georgia Tech. But that happened, causing most of the players to miss number four on last week’s football contest. Struggling Tennessee managed a shut out against Chattanooga.
But, other than that it was apparently a fairly easy week as three people got 14 right; 10 got 13 right, and 28 got 12 right. All of them will have their names added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll for a chance at four tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on Saturday, Dec. 28.
Mrs. Perry is a regular player, entering most every week for the last few years. Her husband, Ben, and his co-workers at the Bank of Monticello, also enter regularly.
You, too, can enter, and maybe win. Just fill out the entry form found on page 11 of today’s paper, or use a separate piece of paper, and submit to The Motnicello News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 20.
Entries may be brought to 247 West Washington Street, faxed to 706-468-6576, or e-mailed to info@themonticellonews.com.
