Persons Are Arrested

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated several thefts in the last week, including theft by deception, theft by taking and theft of services.

The service stolen was electricity from the city of Monticello. From the incident report it is not clear on the theft by deception, but a person lost some $120 in electronic funds, said the report. A handgun was reported missing from an address on Grandview Drive.

There was also a case of Identity fraud reported on Barnes Mountain Road, and a financial identity fraud on Jackson Lake Road. A stolen or misplaced item was a ring missing from a Sprayberry Road address.

Another theft was reported at 311 Wyatt Road where parts to a van were taken.

Persons arrested in the last week include:

•Randy Lewis Bennett, 31, Athens—probation violation.

•Robert Slade Malcom, 25, Oxford—probation violation.

•Gerald Wayne Porter, 38, Hiram—possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

•Phillip Anthony Holt, 43, Monticello—false statements or writings; concealment of facts, obstruction of law enforcement officer, license plate violation, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, and driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Carl Andrew Mahaffey, 51, Dalton—probation violation.

•Takilia Letitia Standifer, 40, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Dylon Phillip Comer, 21, McDonough—probation violation.

•Brandon Shane Biddy, 23, Monticello—fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, seat belt violation, no insurance, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and failure to stop at stop sign.

•Christie Michelle Eidson, 44, Reynolds—possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, drugs not in original container and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

•Mathew John Duchaine, 31, Monticello—probation violation.

•Dakota Monica Maddox, 20, Covington—theft by taking.

•Ronnie Floyd Maxwell, 50, Covington—driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Bobby Lorenzo Copeland, 46, Eatonton—speeding, driving while license suspended or revoked and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Kenneth Joel Hirneisen, 57, Monticello—criminal trespass.

•Jesus Santiago Bautista, 19, Monticello—reckless driving and no proof of insurance.

•James Timothy Traylor, III., 34, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine, failure to maintain lane and theft by receiving stolen property.

•Deante Anteon Smith, 27, Monticello—financial transaction card theft.

•Christy Lynn Jones, 38 Covington—hold for warrant at Covington Police Department.
