Many Get 12+ Right this Week

It was a predictable week for football, apparently, as nearly 60 players correctly picked the winner of 12 or more games listed in last week’s Monticello News football contest.
The winner was Mike Arnold, who got 14 right and was closest on the tie-breaker with his guess of 63 points being scored in Monticello’s 53-21 loss to Union County Friday night. Mike was not available to pick up his prize so he sent his wife, Janice, to collect his $25 from Tony Lewis at Lewis and Malone Heating and AC Service. Mrs. Arnold works at the Jasper County Extension Office where everyone plays the football contest.
The only game Mike missed was in the pro ranks, when Detroit beat Philadelphia, apparently an upset, based on the number of contest players that missed that game.
The other persons who also got 14 right, but were further off on the tie-breaker include Jontae Sands, Ed Hall (husband to Extension agent Kasey Hall), Turkey Holland Stephanie Pittman and J. Matt Tumlin All except Jontae also missed the Detroit/Philadelphia match-up.Jontae missed in the college ranks, thinking Auburn wouldn’t beat Texas A&M.
Twenty-one people got 13 right, and 32 got 12 right. This week gives players another chance to win a prize and get their names at the grand prize honor roll. Whoever correctly guesses the winner of the most games listed, subject to the tie-breaker, will win a $25 prize from Venture Medical Associates.
