Middle School Lady Cougars Win Again

It was just another routine day at the office on Monday for the Piedmont Academy Middle School softball team.

The Lady Cougars blanked visiting Creekside 15-0 needing just three innings to complete the victory. Piedmont’s Middle School team is now 10-1 for the season.

The game’s outcome was determined quickly as the Lady Cougars led 10-0 after the first inning. Piedmont added another run in the bottom of the second inning and four more in the third. The Lady Cougars compiled 10 hits.

Marissa Holder, Kristen Gilroy and Ellie McCart helped pace the offense with two hits each. Holder also drove in four runs while Carly Meredith and Emily Whitwell both drove in runs.

Whitwell, Gilroy and Bailey Mobley each drew walks.

Whitwell earned the win working all three innings and striking out four batters.

The Lady Cougars also played solid defense with just one error.
