Junior Pro Cougars Complete Season
Piedmont Academy’s Junior Pro Football team was outmanned in terms of roster numbers this season but put up a strong battle in each contest.
The young Cougars fell 8-0 to Strong Rock on the road last week in their season finale. The game was evenly played throughout and was scoreless until the final two minutes.
“Everyone on both teams contributed to a great defensive battle,” Piedmont coaches said.
For the Cougars offense Jake Adamson, Coby Cook and Hunter Thompson each had quality rushing games.
Thompson, Adamson, Cook, Braxton Floyd and Corbett Crews helped lead the defense with several solo tackles.
Davis Downs, Kason Martin, Reid Carter and Weston Webb also contributed in last week’s contest with each making several big plays.
“All of our players played their hearts out,” coaches said. “We had a great season even though we just barely had enough players to compete. We have enjoyed watching these young players compete and get better. They have shown lots of heart.”
