Mrs. Carolyn Standifer Beasley

A celebration of life for Mrs. Carolyn Standifer Beasley, who died November 1, 2019, was held Thursday, Nov. 7, at St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello. Rev. Reginald R. Jacobs, Sr., pastor; Elder Frank Dixon eulogist. Burial was in South View Cemetery.

Mrs. Beasley was born on January 14, 1950 in Monticello to the late Eddie Lee Standifer and Mary Ella Standifer.

She received her education from the public school system of Jasper County where she was a basketball player and a graduate of the Class of 1967. She was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church, but later became a member of Mt. Calvary Primitive Baptist Church in Eatonton.

Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies were reading the Bible, shopping, cooking, and watching basketball.

She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Lonnie Beasley, Sr., son Lonnie Beasley, Jr. (Emily); daughters, Carla Standifer and Kristi Beasley, all of Monticello; mother, Mrs. Ella Standifer; sister, Ozetta Smith of Monticello; brothers, Eddie Standifer (Connie) of McDonough and James Grier (Carrie) of Monticello; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Standifer of Milledgeville, Kathy Beasley and Martha Beasley, both of Eatonton; five brothers-in-law, Andrew Barnes of Decatur, Robert Butts, George Johnson, Milton Beasley (Betty) of Madison and Calvin Beasley; one aunt, Jonnie Mae Johnson of Ft. Myers, Fla., six grandchildren, Jakeir Stone, Kyle Levesta, Kyla Levester, Brelynd Beasley, Brock Beasley, and Beau Beasley; also a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
