Tie-Breaker Is Difference This Week

Cassandra Dearro, as well as her family members, plays The Monticello News football contest every week, and this week she was the lucky winner with 12 correct, and getting closer on the tie-breaker than anyone else.
For her effort she picked up a $25 prize from Patrick Diaz with MD HVAC, sponsor of the week.
Mrs. Dearro has been playing the contest for years, and won previously, but she said it was probably three years ago. This week, she beat Walt McMichael and Denise Parker by virtue of her tie-breaker. Mrs. Dearro guessed 57 points would be scored in Monticello’s 50-20 shellacking of Social Circle Friday evening.
Twelve was the most correct picks because there were several upsets last week. Mrs. Dearro picked LSU to beat Alabama, a game missed by most contest players. She missed on Atlanta’s win over New Orleans, also a surprise for most contest players.
This week, players have another chance to win a $25 prize, this time from Primary Care Center, sponsor of the week, or to get their names added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll, or another chance on the Grand Prize Honor Roll.
At the end of the contest, all names on the grand prize honor roll get in a drawing for four premium tickets to the Chick-Fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 28.
