Chrissy Mason Seeks Chief Magistrate Post

CHRISSY PITTS MASON

Chrissy Pitts Mason is pleased to announce her candidacy for Chief Magistrate of Jasper County in 2020.

Chrissy and her husband Keith live just outside of Monticello with their sons, Lane and Parker. She is the daughter of Tim and Duane Pitts, also of Monticello.

Chrissy has worked in the Clerk of Courts office for 15 years, since she was 20 years old. She is a deputy clerk with the primary responsibility of managing the clerical functions of both Juvenile and Magistrate Courts.

Chrissy is an active member of Monticello Baptist Church and enjoys community outreach through her Sunday school class. Chrissy also serves as secretary for the Jasper County Recreation Association Board.

Chrissy states that, “I believe that my experience as a deputy clerk for Magistrate Court has given me unique qualifications to hold this important office. Being in the Clerk’s office, I am required to have familiarity with the laws pertaining to this court. Everything from dispossessories, garnishments, civil suits, deposit account fraud, ordinance violations, the issuance of FiFas and other matters.

“If elected, I pledge to be your full time Magistrate at less cost and with more availability to the public. I have grown up in Jasper County and now I am raising my children here. I love our community and I believe that the citizens of Jasper County deserve to have someone in this office that will make this job their top priority. I would appreciate your votes and support.”

The election for Chief Magistrate will be held on May 19, 2020.
