Thefts Reported; Persons Arrested
Catalytic converters are being taken apparently for their value, with Shiloh Baptist previously having reported theirs stolen, and this week one was taken from the Monticello First United Methodist Church and one from the Jasper County Extension Office, according to reports from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
In addition, there were two reports this week of items that were ordered either not being delivered or being taken before the owner got home to retrieve them. There was also a report of financial transaction card fraud.
Persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Ramiro Bulmaro Bautista, 54, Monticello—loitering or prowling.
•Scott Wesley Mayfield, 57, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine and loitering or prowling.
•Deldrick Keon Williams, 32, Monticello—tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
•Emanuel Zion Jefferies, 19, Lithonia—Jasper County Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear.
•Lashonda Monique Burke, 36, Monticello—mandatory education of minors.
•Robert Slade Malcom, 26, Oxford—probation violation.
•Austin Nathaniel Nix, 35, Monticello—battery.
•Joseph Lee Dennis, 24, Jackson—hold for warrant in Upson Co.
•Jennifer Leigh Trent, 42, Macon—probation violation.
•James Anthony Cates, 46 Monticello—probation violation.
•Tammy Louise Buckner, 51, Macon—hold for warrant in Bibb Co.
•Mackenzie Jeanette Johnson, 27, Monticello—cruelty to children-1st degree (two counts).
•Jorda Jontavious Clements, 29. Monticello—probation violation.
Deputies also responded to numerous calls for service, including 44 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 29 premises check, 28 direct traffic, 22 serve civil papers, 16 accidents, 14 subject needs officer, 13 alarms, 11 pick up prisoner or subject, 10 assist motorist, and numerous other calls of all different types that required a deputy to respond in the county.
