Jasper Superior Court Sentences Are Listed

On December 17, Judge William Prior, Jr. presided over the Jasper Superior Court’s motion day and criminal calendar dockets.

Daniel James Kelly, sentenced to three years with the first 180 days in Jasper County jail (JCJ) which was suspended upon entry into a long-term in-patient substance abuse treatment program. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects and fined $1,500.

Andre E. Prevost, sentenced to six months in JCJ for obstruction of an officer and given credit for time served since December 2018.

Matthew Thomas Sammons, sentenced to four years of probation for two separate cases involving interference with government property, obstruction of an officer, two counts of possession of marijuana, and giving false information to a law enforcement officer. Fined $900. He was credited for time served since September 2019.

Dzavius Williams, sentenced to two years of probation for battery, and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree. Fined $1,000.

Emanuel Jefferies, sentenced to one year of probation on two separate cases for possession of marijuana and theft by shoplifting. Fined $500.

Probation revocations included:

Michael Dempsey, probation modified to 90 days in the JCJ for failure to report to the probation office and failed to report change of address.

Katie Moore, probation revoked to two years in the state penal system for the new offense of shoplifting in Newton County and failure to report a change of address.

Jorda Clements, probation revoked to the JCJ for charge of simple battery.

Ricky Johnson, probation revoked to 180 days in JCJ suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center for 90 days.

Rebecca Garrison, probation revoked to 60 days in JCJ for failure to pay court fines and complete substance abuse and mental health assessment.

Judge Terry Massey presided over the December 10 Jasper Superior Court session of the motion day and criminal calendars.

Ethan Riggs, sentenced to three years in a state facility for interference with government property and obstruction of an officer in addition to violating his probation terms with new offenses including possession of methamphetamine and driving while license suspended. He received credit for time served since June 2019.

Justin Yeng Xiong, sentenced to two years with the first 300 days in JCJ for possession of methamphetamine. He was credited with time served since December 2018. Fined $500.

Probation revocations included:

Andre Prevost, probation revoked to three years to the Georgia Department of Corrections for several new offenses including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, four counts of forgery in the second degree, four counts of identity fraud, four counts of theft by taking, and possession of a false or altered identification document. He also tested positive for drugs, failed to abide by curfew, and failed to pay court fines.

Brian Bulson, probation revoked to JCJ unless court fines are paid, community service completed, and substance abuse evaluation completed by January 10, 2020.

James Puckett, probation revoked to 120 days in JCJ for failure to report to probation officer, failure to pay court fines, and failure to complete community service. He was credited for time served since December 4, 2019.

Lisa Cox, probation revoked to 60 days in JCJ for new charge of public intoxication and false statements.

Marc Rommelman, probation revoked to 90 days in JCJ for failure to report to probation officer, failure to pay court fines, failure to complete an alcohol evaluation and new offense in Clayton County.

Judge Alison Burleson presided over the Jasper Superior Court motion day and criminal calendars on November 26.

William Smith, sentenced to four years with the first 150 days in JCJ for possession of methamphetamine, giving false information to an officer, and failure to maintain lane. He was credited for time served since June 2019 and fined $1,500.

Marvis Wyman, sentenced to five years of probation with 180 days in JCJ violating probation conditions with new charges including aggravated stalking, criminal trespass, simple battery, and obstruction of an officer. Fined $1,000.

Lois Gignac, sentenced to one year of probation for violation of family violence protection order and 90 days in JCJ for violating probation with new charge of aggravated stalking in November 2019. Fined $100.

Dylan Comer, probation revoked to 60 days in JCJ for new charge of misdemeanor obstruction while incarcerated at JCJ for failure to lockdown when directed to do so. He was credited for time served from September to November 2019.
