Louis Wayne Allen
Louis Wayne Allen, of Covington, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 70. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 46 years, Gayle Pittard Allen, six children, and 14 grandchildren.
Wayne Allen was born in Porterdale, Ga. to the late Harold Louis Allen and Loraine Waits Allen. He owned and operated Kaci Boiler Works in Covington.
Wayne was a loving brother, husband, father, Pop and friend. He was a member of Monticello High School Class of 1967, where he excelled in football and made many lifelong friends. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a Scottish Knight of the Shrine of South Carolina.
He loved to play games but didn’t always play by the rules, to the frustration of everyone that played with him. Wayne loved a good joke and making others laugh. He was stubborn, funny, and loved his family more than anything. He was happiest when his children and grandchildren were with him and enjoyed watching them play sports and was their biggest fan. He left a lasting impact on all who knew and loved him. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife; children, Wayne Allen, Jr. of Social Circle, Sam Allen of Loganville, Luke Allen of Jackson, Jessi (Brian) Fain of Covington, John Randall Allen of Covington and Kaci (B. J.) Marks of Covington; grandchildren, Matthew Burkhalter, Chase Allen, Abigail Allen, Mattie Allen, Cooper Allen, Dawson Allen, Logan Allen, Gabe Allen, Brooklyn Allen, Jaydon Fain, Avery Fain, Tripp Marks, Joe Marks and Allie Marks; sisters, Dianne (Gary) Hipps of Mansfield, Denise Stubbs of Covington, Twyla (Scott) Keiser of Dacula and Connie (Dennis) Craft of Covington; and a number of other relatives.
A memorial service is set for today, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. at Starrsville United Methodist Church, 2786 Dixie Road, Covington, Georgia 30014. Rev. Lyle Allen will officiate.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
