Cougar Tate Marks Is Named GISA All Star

Piedmont Academy’s Tate Marks will have the opportunity to represent his school again on the basketball court.

The senior was recently selected to the GISA All Star basketball game which will be Saturday in Augusta. Marks helped lead the Cougars to the state playoffs during the 2019-2020 season.

Marks surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career this past season. His 22-point performance against St. George’s on Jan. 14 put him over that milestone.

Friday’s game will be between GISA All Stars at 8 p.m. at Augusta Prep. The GISA All Stars will then be on the same team Saturday for a contest against All Stars from South Carolina. That game will be at 12:30 p.m.

Marks was one of four seniors for the basketball team this year.

A multi-sport standout at Piedmont, Marks is currently competing for the Diamond Cougars.
