James Campbell Coleman
James Campbell Coleman, age 83, of Monticello, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at Jasper Memorial Hospital.
James Coleman was born on July 19, 1936 in Richmond, Va. His parents were the late James Burgess Coleman and Rose Cross Coleman.
In later years, James lived in Deerfield, Va. before moving to Monticello in 2005. Before retirement, he was a machinist for Melpar, Inc. in Virginia. In addition to his employment with Melpar he was a custom gunsmith at Coleman’s Custom Repair. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and watching the Braves.
He is survived by his sister, Marion C. Whitlow of Monticello; brothers, Edward Lee Coleman of Montpelier, Va. and William Ron Coleman of Monticello; three nieces and three nephews of Virginia; a number of great nieces and nephews of Virginia; and cousins of Virginia.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Jordan Funeral Home from 5. until 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the family farm—Dripping Springs Farm in King and Queen County, Va.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Never Too Late Foster Care Home, c/o Dr. John DeGarmo, P.O. Box 181, Monticello, Ga. 31064.
