First Responders Need Supplies

The local first responders are in need of supplies.

First responders are those who show up first in emergencies—fire/rescue workers, deputies, and emergency medical technicians/paramedics. The Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce is collecting supplies for them..

Items need for EMS and fir/rescue include disposable gowns, safety glasses (Jasper County Lumber Company has them in stock), and snacks and bottled water.

The sheriff’s office needs N-95 masks, hand sanitizer that is 62% or more alcohol, anti-bacterial soap, Clorox wipes, snacks, chips, crackers, bottled water, and latex free gloves (Jasper County Lumber Company has in stock).

Items may be dropped in the drop box in front of the Visitors’ Center, 119 West Washington Street, on the Square.
