Deputies Make Drug Arrests

David Andrew Scott, 32, of Winder was arrested last week on charges of possession of Schedule IV controled substance, possession of Schedule I controled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce, failure to maintain lane and drug related objects.
He was stopped on Hwy. 11 north last Saturday, and deputies conducted a brief investigation that yielded the seizure of suspected marijuana as well as suspected Alprazolam (Xanax) pills.
Also, Richard Blake Chatham, 30, of Monroe, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, drug related objects, operation of vehicle without current plate, tail light violation, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and driving while license expired. He was stopped on Jackson Lake Road on Monday, around 1 a.m., near the main entrance to Turtle Cove. A brief investigation yielded the seizure of suspected methamphetamine.
In other action in the last week, investigators arrested a suspect for violating a Family Violence order, and executed a search warrant off Pelican Circle.
On June 17, deputies recovered a stolen vehicle in the city of Monticello and arrested the driver of the vehicle. Sarbelio Bonilla Martinez, 35, homeless was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and driving without a valid license.
On Friday, deputies responded to a call of shots fired off Rocky Creek Church Road. Upon their arrival, the alleged perpetrator had fled the scene. As they continued to investigate, they eventually located Malcom Smith who was arrested for outstanding warrants and charged with unlawful conduct during a 911 call. Mr. Smith, 20, of Mansfield is also being held for a warrant in Lowndes Co.
Other persons arrested in the last week, and their charges, include:
•Dustin Travis Jeffrey, 25, Monticello—obstruction of a law enforcement officer and probation violation.
•Charles Roberson Sasser, 53, Monticello—violation of family violence order.
•William David Powell, 23, Cartersville—probation violation.
•Takilia Letitia Standifer, 41, Monticello—probation violation.
•Rasheed Chavez Tripp, 27, Monticello—probation violation.
•Hadley Luke Jackson, 38, Monticello—probation violation.
•Donald Blake Cox, 58, Newborn—aggravated assault (two counts) and terroristic threats (two counts).
•Tommy Lee Kell, 22, Monticello—obstruction of a law enforcement officer (three counts.)
In addition, during the last week, JCSO investigators solved cases, recovered property and took warrants for four counts of Theft by taking, Financial Transaction Card Theft, and Financial Transaction Card Fraud.
Deputies also conducted 93 traffic stops, 90 premises checks, 21 subject needs officer, and 15 alarms, 12 serve civil papers, 11 each mechanical breakdowns and roadway hazard, and numerous other calls of various types.
