68 Covid Cases Reported Here

Jasper County stands at 68 Covid-19 cases as of the North Central Health District’s (NCHD) June 30 update. The NCHD Covid-19 testing call line and specimen points of collection (SPOC) will suspend operations during the Independence Day holiday.

The testing call line will close for the holiday on Thursday, July 2, at 12 p.m. The SPOCs will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, in recognition of the holiday. Regular operating hours for the call line and SPOCs will resume Monday, July 6.

With regard to Covid-19 cases over the previous two week period, Jasper County is no longer classified in the substantial spread category as it was last week along with Baldwin County. While Baldwin retains that classification this week, Hancock replaces Jasper for the timeframe during June 8-21.

Locally, emergency department visits captured in syndromic surveillance for residents with either a Covid-19 syndrome or ILI Syndrome were less than three visits between June 8-21, according to the weekly summary. Also, the incidence rate of Covid-19 for Jasper County residents between was 50 per 100,000 population whereas the prior 14-Day Incidence Rate was 143 per 100,000 population.
