Several Are Sentenced In Jasper Superior Court

Jasper Superior Court has been busy over the past two months conducting court sessions via teleconferences with the presiding judge and defendants.

Judge Alison T. Burleson presided over the June 23 civil and criminal sessions.

During that session, Fredrico Deonte Epps was sentenced to five years with the first 110 days in Jasper County jail suspended upon entry into the State Probation Detention Center for 80-110 days. The defendant had four separate cases that included 19 charges of which 14 were nolle prossed.

For his lone aggravated assault, he was sentenced to the five years with the suspensions and fined $1,500. For the obstruction of an officer, simple battery, criminal trespass, and battery charges, he was sentenced to 180 days in jail which he was credited for time served since January 2020. The defendant was also sentenced to avoid contact with six victims.

Probation revocations included:

•Hadley Jackson, probation revoked to 102 days in jail for the new offense of driving under the influence (DUI), open container, and violation of a limited permit.

•Kristopher Kinna, probation revoked to 100 days in jail for failure to report to the Conyers DCS, failure to complete community service, and failure to provide verification of substance abuse treatment.

•Dustin Jeffrey, probation revoked to 90 days in jail for failure to report to probation, failure to complete substance abuse counseling and family intervention program, refused a random drug screen, and new offense of obstruction.

Also, a bond order was established for Martha Holloway in the amount of $5,000. Judge William Prior, Jr. preside over a brief June 9 session which resulted in the following:

•James Johnson, probation revoked to 100 days in jail for failure to submit a urine sample, positive drug test result, failure to report probation office, failure to submit new address, failure to complete community service hours, and failure to complete substance abuse evaluation.

•Joshua Epps, probation revoked to the state penal system until May 2022 for failure to obtain substance abuse treatment, pay court ordered fines, new offense of possession of methamphetamine, theft by taking, criminal interference with government property, possession of marijuana, and driving while license suspended.

•Rasheed Tripp, probation revoked to Georgia Deparment of Corrections for driving while license suspended and failure to pay court fees.

May results for Jasper Superior Court sessions included:

•Ann Williams, sentenced to two years of probation for possession of drugs not in the original container and too fast for conditions with three charges nolle prossed. Fined $800.

•Charles Buice, sentenced to two years on probation for discharge of a firearm on or near a public highway and theft of lost or mislaid property. Five charges were nolle prossed. Fined $500.

•Misty Lynch, sentenced to one year of probation for reckless driving with one count nolle prossed. Fined $500.

•Kristen Hill, sentenced to one year of probation for simple battery. Fined $200.

•Garry Morgan, probation revoked to 200 days in jail for failure to perform community service, positive drug test, failure to pay court fines, and failure to report to probation.

•Wendy Bates, probation revoked to 160 days in jail for new offense of possession of schedule II con- trolled substance, failure to perform community service, new offense of possession of a schedule II controlled

substance, and failure to pay court fines.
