Willie H. Fears
A graveside service for Willie Harris Fears, who died July 19, 2020, was held Friday, July 24, at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Shady Dale. Rev. Willie Frank Norwood, pastor of Shady Grove Baptist, officiated.
Mr. Fears was born on August 9, 1944 in Jasper County to the late Hulon Fears and Lottie Shy-Fears. He was the third child born in this loving home of four children.
His father, mother and oldest sister, Rosie Lene Fears-Hughes and older brother, Henry Clarence Fears, preceded him in death.
He attended and graduated from Jasper County Training School in 1962.
Willie Fears joined the United States Army on August 18, 1965. He was honorably discharged in August 17, 1967.
While in Atlanta, Willie was employed by the Ford Motor Company on August 30, 1967. He retired November 1, 2006.
Willie Fears leaves to cherish his memories, three sons, Gregory Fears, Kelvin Fears and Donovan Fears; a sister, Maggie Raper, several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
