GOVERNOR VISITS

Governor Brian Kemp (second from right) along with First Lady Marty Kemp made a quick stop in Monticello for a luncheon at the City Government Complex last Friday. Complying with COVID-19 guidelines the attendees were limited to a small group representing different community governments and businesses. Guests wore masks until time to eat, and snapped a few photos without the protective masks. The Governor was most interested in how the community was coping with the virus and what additional resources might be needed. After the luncheon Governor Kemp heard from Tamera Mitchell at Rusted Roots who articulated a heartfelt appreciation that she was able to reopen her business where every customer and staff wear masks and are temperature tested. The luncheon was hosted by State Representative Susan Holmes (right) and included was State Senator Burt Jones.
