Cathryne Elizabeth Carithers Hunt

Cathryne Elizabeth Carithers Hunt, age 67, of Lilburn, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at the Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville.

Cathryne “Cathy” Hunt was born and raised in Macon, to Mary Louise Malone Carithers and the late William Kenneth Carithers. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Carithers and brother-in-law, Curtis Guice.

Cathy was an elementary school teacher for the DeKalb School System and retired from Gwinnett School System. She enjoyed photography, crafts and ancestry. Cathy was a member of the Peachtree Corners Baptist Church in Norcross.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, David Scott “Scotty” Hunt of Lilburn; mother, Mary Louise Malone Carithers of Morrow; sisters, Marsha Guice of Hiawassee and Melanie (Phil) Gilbert of Locust Grove; nephews and nieces, Michael Mainland, Melissa (Greg) Ferguson, Katie (Jacob) Foster and Micah Gilbert; and nine great- nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at McKissack-Goolsby Family Cemetery in Hillsboro. Rev. Phillips Gilbert will officiate.
