JV Lady Canes Play Well Despite Losing

The Jasper County-Monticello High School junior varsity softball team fell to Lamar County 12-2 last week.

Coach Brady McMichael said the JV Lady Canes played a solid game and the final score does not indicate how well they played.

“We had a really good defensive game,” McMichael said. “I give a lot of credit to Lamar County. They could swing the bat.”

M’kayla Middlebrooks, Lexi Allen and Lindsey Thomas all collect base hits for Jasper County.

The JV Lady Canes fell to Newton High School 12-0 on Tuesday.

“Once again the score does not reflect how we played,” McMichael said. “The thing I like to see is that the girls are getting better every game and working on the things we are coaching them to do.”

The JV team was scheduled to host Lamar County on Wednesday of this week.
