Clifford Paul Chadwick

Clifford Paul Chadwick, age 87, of Shady Dale, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, at his residence.

Clifford Chadwick was born in Ellijay, to the late Holly Roy Chadwick and Bertha Mae Jones Chadwick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Shirley Ray Chadwick and Jan Mann; son, Roy Keith Chadwick; step-mother, Nannie Mae Chadwick; brothers, Robert Chadwick and Ronald Chadwick; and sister, Caryl Nix.

Clifford moved to Shady Dale in 1965 from Ellijay. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Before retirement he worked for Champion Lumber Company and was a self-employed monument installer for 20 years.

Clifford was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and training his dogs for coon hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Sorrells Chadwick of Shady Dale; son, Michael Paul Chadwick of Athens; mother-in-law, Imogene Sorrells of Shady Dale; step-children, Anita Gail Carter of Dublin, Kenneth James (Amy) Harp of Cleveland and Molly Roxanne Harp of Newborn; 10 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great grandchildren; sisters and sister-in-law, Meryl Mullinax of Rock Springs, Linda Herron of Chatsworth and Nancy Chadwick of Chatsworth.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Shady Dale. Rev. Ed Westbrook will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Williams, Rick Cook, James McMichael, Terry Braley, Bruce Henry and David Bryant.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, and 9 until 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations to Providence Baptist Church P. O. Box 15, Shady Dale, Ga. 31085.
