COVID-19 Cases Here Increase Slightly
While COVID-19 cases are trending upward in places around the nation, Jasper County cases appear to remain near status quo for the moment. According to data from the North Central Health District (NCHD) released Monday, Jasper County currently has 244 confirmed cases and 121 presumed cases for 365 total, up just six cases from last week’s COVID-19 numbers.
The incidence rate of COVID-19 for Jasper County residents from the current two-week period was 135 per 100,000 population. The previous two-week incidence rate was 199.
The Jasper County Charter School System had one new employees COVID-19 case to report among employees and zero among students for the week of October 3-9 . The total number of students in quarantine due to exposure is 42 while the total number of employees is currently eight.
There have been a total of 12 cases each involving students and employees since the school year began.
