Monticello Cross Country Teams Compete at State Meet
The Jasper County-Monticello High School boys and girls cross country teams had the opportunity to compete on the state’s big stage last Saturday in Carrollton.
Both teams qualified for the GHSA Class AA state meet. It was the first time in program history that both the Canes and Lady Canes competed at the state meet in the same season.
The teams qualified for state after their performances at the Region 3-AA competition. The Lady Canes were second at region.

Pace Academy was the overall team state champion in girls competition. Jasper County-Monticello was 18th overall among 25 schools.

Lovett High School was the overall team winner at boys state followed by Pace Academy and Banks County. Jasper-County Monticello was 26th overall with more than 30 schools represented.
