Edwin ‘Ed’ Pennamon

A celebration of life for Edwin “Ed” Pennamon, who died December 5, 2020, was held Monday, Dec. 14, at South View Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Jason Branson officiated.

Mr. Edwin Lee Pennamon known and loved as “Ed” was born February 22, 1969, in Jasper County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Lee, Jr. and Edna Louise Sands Pennamon.

He proclaimed his faith in Christ at an early age. Later he moved and found his church home at Abundant Life Church.

He was a graduate of the Jasper County public school system, Class of 1987.

Everyone who knew Ed knew him as a loving father; brother, uncle and a friend who loved to take or do anything for you. He was always helping someone or somebody doing whatever he could do for them. Ed was an “Uber” in his own way. He was devoted and faithful member of his church where he served as an usher. He was not ashamed to praise the Lord. All who knew him knew he was a praiser. He was a very humble man who loved the Lord and knew the word of God. Ed walked the walk and talked the talk.

But most of all, he was a “Die Hard” loyal Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan for life. He was a people person that you couldn’t help but to fall in love with. Ed had a genuine smile that’s going to be missed and a sweet spirit.

Ed worked at Georgia-Pacific for 20 years in Monticello until it closed.

On December 5, 2020, God called Ed home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Smith, and a nephews, Rodriquez Pennamon.

Leaving to cherish his loving memories: a daughter, Elexus Pennamon; six sisters, Vivian (Donell) Goodrum, Valerie Dale Pennamon, Clover Rooks, Tenera Vinson, Aveka (Cordell) Stone, quetta Vinson; two brothers, Thaxton (Denise) Pennamon and Tremayne (Jacquan) Pennamon; godmother, Sarah Walker.
