Early Voting Is Brisk
Early voting for the January 5 U.S. Senate run-off election began Monday, and 544 people voted in person in Jasper County during the first two days of early voting.
In addition, 1,300 absentee ballots have been sent, with most expected to be returned, said Chief Registrar Carole Norris.
Meanwhile, qualifying for the District 1 County Commission seat began yesterday, Dec. 16, and continues until noon tomorrow, Dec. 18. That election will be held in March.
Polls are open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily for early voting. There will be no Saturday voting. Polls will not be open Christmas eve or Christmas day, and the last day of early voting will be Thursday, Dec. 31.
