Sheila Jones Seeks Commission Seat

Sheila Gantt Jones has qualified for District 1 County Commission for a special election set for March 16, 2021.

She is the daughter of Dollie Mae Gantt and the late Albert Lee Gantt, and has lived in Jasper County for 37 years.

Mrs. Jones is a 1989 graduate of Jasper County High School, and she has one son, Tyler Pounds. She is married to Rev. Jerome Jones, and attends Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello.

Mrs. Jones serves on the Jasper County School Governance Team (SGT) for Jasper County Middle School and Washington Park Elementary School.

Mrs. Jones has served many patients and their families while working at The Retreat Nursing Home and Jasper Memorial Hospital. She has been a substitute bus driver for more than 10 years for the Jasper County Board of Education.

“I an always willing to help others in any way I can, and if elected I will be fair and serve the citizens of Jasper County to the best of my ability,” said Mrs. Jones.
