Timothy Ray Pitts

Timothy Ray Pitts, age 70, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021, at his residence.

“Tim” Pitts was born in Atlanta, to the late Billie Ann Smith Pitts and Raymond Joe Pitts on June 25, 1950.

He served in the United States Navy on aircraft carriers, USS Forrestal, USS John F. Kennedy and USS Independence, in Vietnam and the Philippines.

Tim loved and took great pride in the company he owned and operated, Pitts Paving Company. He especially loved being with his family, and he loved golfing and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Randy Pitts.

He is survived by his wife, Esther Duane Sullivan Pitts; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Andrea Pitts, and Jamie and Rachael Pitts; daughter and son-in-law, Chrissy and Keith Mason; grandsons, Carter Pitts, Noah Pitts, Lane Mason, and Parker Mason; sisters, Jerry Garrett and Karen Wilkins; and brother, Billy Joe Pitts.

A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 25, at West View Cemetery. Rev. David Artessa officiated. Honorary pallbearers were be members of the Blitz Golf Group, Tom Brady, Doug Huff, Gene Johnston, Jimmy Jordan, Neil Jordan, Don Kelly, Dan Roberts, and Walt Tillman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (choa.org) in honor of grandson, Carter Pitts.
