Hurricane Soccer Kicks Into Action Friday
After two weeks of conditioning and two weeks of practice the Jasper County High School Hurricane Boys Soccer team will start their 2021 season this Friday.
The Hurricanes will scrimmage against the Alcovy Tigers at the Hurricane Athletic Complex. This will be the first soccer season played at the new stadium. This year there are many seniors on the field, many of whom missed over half of the season in 2020 due to COVID-19. They are all hoping to make the best of their last season as many of them have played together since they were very young.
This year’s roster of seniors includes Chandler Dunning, Ethan Proctor, Sammy Nunez, Alan Torres, Estevan Vera, Clint Kitchens, Austin Link, Maseson Schandera, Dalton Ramey, and Jackson Tomlin.
The girls team will also be playing against the Tigers, beginning at 5:30, followed by the boys at 7:30.
Those pictured include the seniors previously listed and Coach M. Lesuer, Luke Nelson, Will Garvin, Randy Jenkins, Spencer Hamblin, Fabian Ortiz, Coach Walls, J.D. Williams, Azel Nunez, Steven Espinoza, and Alfredo Torres. Adelyn Walls is team manager.
