Mrs. Frankie Lee Gordon Jackson
Mrs. Frankie Lee Gordon Jackson was born on May 10, 1934 in Jasper County to the parentage of the late Henry Clay and Leanna Clark Gordon. She departed this earthly life the morning of Friday, Feb. 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.
Frankie committed her life to God at an early age and joined Rock Zion CME Church where she was a faithful member and served on the Usher board until the church closed its doors.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Hollice Jackson for 56 years. To this union four children were born. She worked as a seamstress at Oxford Industries for many years until the closing of the company. She enjoyed watching basketball, sewing, putting together puzzles and talking on the phone. She was notorious for never saying ‘good-bye.’ Instead, she just hung up the phone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollice Jackson; one sister, Redia Bell; four brothers Odell, James ‘Sunnie,’ Howard Jack, and Doyle Gordon.
She leaves to cherish her memories four loving, caring, and devoted children including three sons, Hollis and Rudell Jackson of Monticello, Larry Jackson (Dawn) of Macon; one daughter, Cheryl Jackson of Monticello; one step-son, Grover Jackson (Nikita) of Covington; four lovely grandchildren whom she loved and cherished, Monique Jackson of Monticello, Alicia Jackson of Conyers, Brandyn Jackson of Atlanta, and Bryson Jackson of Macon; two lovely great-grandchildren whom she adored: Madisyn Dennis of Conyers, and Davyn Hill of Monticello; two sisters-in-law: Susie Mae Gordon of Monticello, and Mattie Sands of Atlanta.
She nurtured and cared for several children and raised them as her own: Marvin Sands, Jr., Sheila Smith, Matthew “Junior” Fisher, and Tyshon Fisher; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends; devoted family members: Mary Gordon, Dorothy Johnson, Annette Tripp, Bernice Battle; devoted special friends: Linda Hudson and Carolyn Peters; and a special thank you to June Jackson, and Leslie Nelson with Serenity Hospice Care.
