Deacon Willie A. Martin, Jr.

Deacon Willie A. Martin, Jr. was born on June 29, 1946 to the late Deacon Willie A. Martin, Sr. and the late Magnolia Martin.

After graduating from the Jasper County Training School, he received a degree from Macon Technical College. He worked for Hercules Inc.

He enjoyed fishing, working in the garden, going to church and being with family and friends….and caramel cake.

At an early age, he accepted Christ and became a deacon at New Enon Baptist Church in Godfrey.

In 1969, he was joined in Matrimony to the late Pastor Lucinda Martin and they shared 43 wonderful years together.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two sisters, Sarah Williams (Charlie) of Farrar, Georgia and Nellie Smith (Jack) of Eatonton; two brothers, McArthur Martin of Monticello and Lee Martin (Mary Sue) of Farrar; three aunts, Naomi Ross of Farrar, Ruth Stewart of Atlanta, and Evelana Clemons of Social Circle. Also, a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
