JCHS Golf Fielding Young Team

The Jasper County-Monticello High School golf team will be learning as it goes this spring.

Coach Ethan Huff only has two returning players from last season in Peyton Klassen and Austin Dean. They are joined by newcomers Jacoby Banks and Elias Hamblin.

Ansley Hargove will represent the Lady Canes this season.

Jasper County-Monticello opened the 2021 season last week against Alcovy High School and GMC. Since neither the boys or girls have enough team members to advance past the regular season, Huff said the players are simply focusing on improving their individual games.

“We are learning and looking to improve,” the coach said. “Our players are working hard.”

The team will face Jackson High School on Thursday at Hickory Hills Golf Course at 3:30 p.m.
