Canes, Lady Canes Host Multi-School Track Meet
Both the Jasper County-Monticello High School varsity track teams hosted a six-school event last Friday as several Canes and Lady Canes continue to have standout times and performances this spring.
Graeme Williams won the 200-meter dash for the Jasper County-Monticello boys 23.12. Samuel Ivey was fourth in the pole vault competition clearing 7-6.
Other top finishes for the boys included:

•Shamarian Greene, tenth, triple jump, 35-01.5
Brianna Dalton was runner-up for the Lady Canes in the 3,200-meter run in 14:47.18. Other top placers for the Jasper County-Monticello girls were:
•Brooklyn Dalton, third, 3,200-meter run, 15:49
•4×400-meter relay team, fourth, 5:11.38
•JaKara Tobler, fifth in 400-meter run (1:05.61) and fifth in 800-meter run (2:55.72)
•Brianna Dalton, fifth, 1,600-meter run, 6:52.95
•Chelsey Pelley, sixth, 1,600-meter run, 6:57.97 and sixth in 800-meter run (3:00.24)
•Oriayah Thurman, seventh, 100-meter dash, 13.71
Other schools competing at the event included Towers High School, Monroe Area High School, Putnam County High School, Griffin High School and Oglethorpe County High School.
