Jimmy Phillips
A celebration of life and committal service for Jimmy Phillips will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11 a.m. at South View Cemetery, 1000 Southview Street in Monticello. Rev. Ricky Hammond will officiate.
Jimmy Phillips was born on November 16, 1935 in Jasper County, to the late Grace and Gus Phillips. He joined St. John C.M.E. Church at an early age and served faithfully until his health failed.
Jimmy, better known as “Pumpkin” was educated in the Jasper County public school system. He was employed for several years at Georgia Pacific Corporation until he retired.
On April 10, 2021, the Lord saw fit to call His angel home to live eternally with him.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Clarice Phillips; four daughters, Florence Jacobs, Evangail Chatman, Kenna Jacobs and Felicia Phillips all of Monticello; one Godson, Brandon Manning of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also, a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, friends and his dog, Missy.
