DDA Enters Into Lease Agreement

Monticello Downtown Development Authority (DDA) board of directors conducted a called meeting via Zoom Tuesday afternoon for the purpose of approving a new lease agreement.

The agreement is with property owner Timothy Clark for the purpose of renting the grassy lot, located at 246 Forsyth Street, for $30 per month with the stipulation that the DDA keeps the grass cut.

The directors also agreed to reschedule the Welcome Mural & Art Alley Unveilings to Saturday, July 24. The unveilings were planned for last Saturday but inclement weather prevented the activities.

Today, the DDA is sponsoring an “open mic” night on the Square where interested people can come up and sing while others gather on the Square to hear the music. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the music begins at 6 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the DDA is set for Monday, July 12 at 6 p.m. in its offices located at 139 West Washington Street.
