Kermit Leslie ‘Les’ Evans

Kermit Leslie “Les” Evans of Monticello, age 64, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 after an extended illness.

Les was born on November 22, 1956, in Espanola, NM. His parents were the late William K. and Minnie S. Evans.

At the age of 17, Les enlisted in the United States Navy. He spent time in both Orlando, Fla. and Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois. He always spoke fondly of his time spent in United States Navy. After returning home to take care of his father, he met his future wife, Solita Sullan.

Les is survived by his wife of 43 years, Solita and his two daughters Elysha Ward (Chad Strickland) of McDonough, and April Evans (Jimmy Brown) of Biloxi, MS. Les also took extreme pride in his grandson, Brantley Ward.

He will greatly be missed by his loving family.

As per his request, there will be a private family service at a later date.
