JCMS Football Falls on the Road at Monroe

For the Jasper County Middle School football team, it all boiled down to one area: turnovers.

The Middle School Canes simply had too many turnovers in a 20-6 loss to Carver Middle School in Monroe last week. That was the assessment of coach Chad Estes.

“The kids played hard but we had some opportunities we did not take advantage of,” the coach said. “We just have to capitalize.”

Bryce Jackson threw a touchdown pass to JaMarkus Thomas for the lone score for JCMS.

Defensively, the coaches said DeNoryn Head played well at outside linebacker.

The team is off this week which allows the coaches to go back to the basics.

“We are going to work on blocking and tackling,” Estes said. “After two games we will look at what we do well and try to emphasis those areas. This week will give us time to evaluate where we are at and see what else we need to work on.”
