Stolen Car Recovered; Six Arrested

Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated two claims of identity fraud, and recovered a stolen vehicle in the last week.

The vehicle was found by a property owner, who contacted law enforcement.

Deputies discovered the vehicle was reported stolen out of Gwinnett County. The vehicle was towed from the location to an impound lot.

Deputies investigated several cases, but only five arrests were reported for the period of January 18-25. They include:

•Eric Michael Lindsey, 34, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Shanna Lee Jones, 40, Hillsboro—possession of methamphetamine.

•Michael Allen Carter, 41, Monticello—possession of methamphetamine.

•Sarah Catherine Jobst, 39, Mansfield—theft by deception.

•Mark Timothy Daniel, 46, Monticello—violation of a family violence order.

Deputies also responded toe numerous calls for service, including 84 premises check, 62 stopping suspicious person or vehicle, 32 911 hang-ups, 25 direct traffic, 24 sex offender checks, 23 subject needs officer, 18 service civil papers, 11 alarms, 10 mechanical breakdown, six road hazard, and five each welfare check, threatening/harassing calls, special detail, and numerous other calls.
