Annie Mae Stone Goolsby

A celebration of life for Mrs. Annie Mae Stone Goolsby, who died January 25, 2022 was to be held Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.

at Concord Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 241 Concord Road, Monticello. Rev. Jerry Williams, eulogist.

Annie Mae Stone Goolsby was born June 3, 1928 to the late Charlie Stone, Sr. and Estella Price Stone in Jasper County. She was married to Grover Lee Goolsby, Sr.

Mrs. Annie loved flowers and growing her own vegetables. She grew tomatoes, collards, okra, cucumber and green beans. Mrs. Annie loved to cook. She would lovingly prepare a feast of turkey, dressing and the harvest from her garden. Mrs. Annie even made her own south-meat and made some of the best cakes. She also had a hand in raising her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Lee Goolsby, Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stone; sons, Grover Lee Goolsby, Jr. and Jerry Louis Tripp; daughter, Hattie Mae Goolsby; brothers, Linus Stone, Francis Wilson Stone, and J.C. Price; and sisters, Fluellen Stone Morris, Dorothy Stone Lewis, Leaman Price Parks, Annie Price Anfield, Gladys Price Kelly and Barbara Stone Benton Tripp.

She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Charlie David Goolsby of Monticello; two daughters, Dolores Goolsby and Carolyn L. Goolsby both of Monticello; brother, Charlie Stone, Jr. (Carolyn) of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Bertha Benton Stone Crawford (McArthur) of Monticello; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Also, a host of other relatives and friends.
