Cougar Soccer Returns
Piedmont Academy will once again have a varsity boys soccer team for the 2022 season.
After a four year absence, the Cougars have returned and have already earned a win. Piedmont defeated GMC 3-2 last week in a home match.
“We have worked really hard to get the boys soccer program back and they are really doing well, especially since only a few had ever played before,” said coach Mary McClendon, who also coaches the Lady Cougars.
In the win, Mark Myles scored a hat trick for the Cougars. Myles also had the team’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to HMS last Friday.
The varsity boys will host Gatewood on March 14 at 5:15 p.m. The team will also compete in an intra-county match on March 31 against the Hurricanes.
