Mrs. Ruby Jackson Driskell
A celebration of life for Mrs. Ruby Jackson Driskell, also known as “Lil Sis,” 96, who departed from this life on Friday, April 9, 2022 was held April 16, 2022, at Community Cemetery in Adgateville. Bishop Joe L. Ridley was eulogist.
She was born to the late Seymour and Louise Jackson on April 15, 1925.
She attended Crossroad C.M.E. Church in Hillsboro. She was a very devoted and active member alongside her sister, Inez Cargile, during their later years of attendance. Mrs. Ruby was a devoted wife and homemaker to the late Curtis Driskell, Sr.
She loved going fishing which was one of her favorite hobbies. She also loved vegetable gardening, planting flowers and canning peaches and pears. Eating peppermint candy and chewing gum was an enjoyable moment for her in a quiet time.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Driskell, Jr. Mrs. Ruby was the last surviving child of 11 siblings. Her brothers were Bennie and Herbert Jackson, and sisters included Inez Cargile, Lillian Lloyd, Matilda Barber, Willie Mae Ridley, Corine Appling, Kate Appling, Nancy McDaniel and Leslie Blaylock.
Ruby “Lil Sis” is survived by two children, Annette D. (Eddie) Williams of Macon and Danny (Wanda E.) Driskell of Monticello. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Linda Myrick of Conyers, Larry Myrick of Covington, Chad Green of Lithonia, Derrick/Daniel Driskell of Milledgeville, and Emanuel Driskell of Madison. She loved seeing her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren on Easter Sunday run and find those Easter eggs. She would have some boiled and ready for them to hide and find.
She is survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Also, a host of loving family and friends.
